Interesting article on the regulatory and financial metrics underlying
the evaluation of non-profit organisations/charities, at http://www.forbes.com/sites/williampbarrett/2014/12/10/how-to-evaluate-a-charity.
Forbes relies on several metrics to calculate the efficiency
of a given charity using efficiency ratios, amongst them, charitable commitment,
fundraising efficiency and donor dependency.
Well worth a read, for although the non-profit regulatory
framework differs materially from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, some of the key
metrics and concepts would be applicable across the board to any non-profit irrespective
of location or core objective.
